Five! It looks the most professional to me. They're all great, though! Wish I could pull of the berry lipstick the way you do!
Craig likes 5 too! He said this is what I look like when I'm laughing and amused and is the most natural shot.
Yeah, I think he's right. You just look genuinely happy and not like it's forced for a photo.
I'm a big fan of five too!
Oh I agree! #5 is the perfect one for an article. It's professional, but shows a bit of your cute side too. I can totally see it next to a byline.
I like 3 the best followed by 5
I like 3 alot, but I think the reason I question it is that I was out at karaoke and drinking. LOL. I guess no one else will know I was though. I think the glasses are good for a technical article as well.
Nobody will ever know! :)
We went out to Karaoke Sat. at Azteca, they have opened up the side with the booths for under age guests,So Emma and two of her friends went along with us, Emma sang! I was so shocked!
she sang 'sweet dreams' Mike was shocked as well, who knew she could sing and stand up in front of people and do it? She is so much like Mike... odd as she is not his child. 'nature vs nurture'.
Do you need us to being anything on Sat?
I think I have Saturday covered. My Mom is bringing her chocolate pies (YUM) and I have some Stumptown coffee from Portland, so dessert will be amazing!
If Mike feels like it, perhaps a few beers for the guys to enjoy? Other than that, I can't think of a thing.
Five is IT in my opinion. Good natural lighting, a very easy and comfortable smile plus the kick ass glasses.
Five is the photo where your arm is around me outside of the B&B. Did you know that?
Awww no I didn't! That makes it even better. :) I'm good for making Lanette smiles. ;)
Definitely 5. It looks both the most natural while simultaneously the most professional.
Thanks! I just posted the whole picture of #5 and made it an LJ icon too.
Thanks! I think the glasses work well for the technical article.
My favorite is number 5...you look so happy in the photo. Second was #3
I'm not gonna say 5 to be ornery.
I actually like 2 a lot but not for something professional. I think 5 is the best for that, however I would crop it to make you more centered.
And I'm pretty sure 4 is a decoy picture, because it is AWFUL. :D
I thought #4 was someone else. Doesn't look like her at all.
The reason I put in #4 is because it is natural (barely any makeup) and I thought that might read as more professional to some people.
They all have their advantages, I'll list them by what you should use them for...
1: Surprised at a party (MySpace)
2: Your dating site photo
3: Activist-Just got done protesting aginst whaling/News photo for when you get kidnapped by Colombian Guerillas.
4: Romance/Mystery Novelist
5: Software developer/advice columnist
6: Profile photo you use online when you DON'T want people contacting you. "I am completely manic and I like clowns"
I like 3, then 5...course that's just me. :)
Yes! someone agrees with me, I loved number 3 best :)
The twitter tester group liked #3.

5. Hair looks particularly pretty in #3 but the thing I don't like about #3 is that it looks like you're craning your neck off to the side, which is either an odd pose or because you're leaning in to someone else. I think a picture that looks like an intentional "just me" photo is good. #5 is more centered and, despite the contrary, looks like a "just you". Plus the background is cleaner.
I agree on #4 - not complimentary. To me you look like you were having a rough day. Not a full Lanette-y smile.
Just cuz I have to say it, your hair is fabulous. Not that this is a newsflash.
I think 4 and 5 look least like they found a model to pose for the picture while the troll that actually is the actual person hides in the background. 5 is a better one for technical stuff IMO due to the glasses. It's a great picture and you look beautiful, but it looks a bit less like there are hair and makeup people just off to the side. You are just too pretty for being as smart and technical as you are. Maybe you should take a picture of a "troll" and submit that so that people will actually believe it's you doing to writing? *grins*
