Our Kitties [Aug. 4th, 2009|11:50 am]
[Current Mood |amusedamused]

We have discovered that one of our cats, Tizzy, the 6 year old is actually a Mogwai. She still has not gone to the vet as she won't be forced into a box. Because of this, the bald patches above her eyes make her look even more like a Mogwai.

The only problem is she is bad around 4am and sometimes gets mad and poops on the floor. Luckily the rest of the time she is sweet and cute.

Stardust has developed much comfort hanging out upstairs and hates Ashley so much that there is no way to get her downstairs. I think so long as we feed her upstairs she will be content to just hang out up there sleeping in doorways. She's a lap cat, so I'm sad I can't get her downstairs yet. We are still working on that. I wish I'd locked Ashley upstairs and let the other cats roam the house as they need more space and attention to be happy.

Tizzy Stackhouse (We've decided she's such a cuddle slut that she's related to Jason), has been going downstairs and Ms. Ashley had been behaving herself like QUITE the lady. Instead of chasing her, she says a word with her and if Tizzy runs off she accepts it and doesn't chase or attack. If Tizzy really wants to be down there she'll refuse to leave and Ashley will hiss and do her slow motion walk off.

So, because of the progress with those 2 I HATE to put her in a room just because Stardust is being a coward, at least until the other 2 are comfortable, but I worry that Stardust isn't getting enough attention and that life would be better for us all if she just would be brave enough to see Ashley as the paper tiger she is and would come down there sometimes. Cats are so territorial. I'm not sure 3 is a good number. EDITED TO ADD: I mean, good number or not all cats are staying here of course, it's just a question of how long it will take them to adjust.

Sometimes it does take adjustment time. If they're getting to the point where they can be in the same room that's great!

Last night Ashley was on my lap getting petted and Tizzy came right up to her. Ashley hissed at her and she left, but no fighting happened, so that was an improvement. I do feel guilty sometimes about how little Ashley likes other cats. She would prefer to be an only cat.
