YAY! Welcome new kitties!!! :)
Thank you! They are so cute. I hope they adjust soon so that they can all be snuggly and happy in the house. It's going to be a weird few weeks as we help them adjust to get to know one another.
They are beautiful :)
That sad, sad picture breaks my heart- they need some good humans to love them and be loved in return. I am glad they found you!
They are the sweetest and most loving creatures. We both feel lucky to find these precious girls.
Awwww, they're so cute! I'm sure you'll give them a wonderful home <33
Thanks! I hope Tizzy gets less scared soon. She's having a hard time adjusting.
Yay! It feels good to have more family now. :)
I love these cats! I wish my home was more condusive to animals, as I grew up with a zoo. It is kind of funny, as Julia(my daughter) was begging for an animal, and I told her the reality/responsibility of having pets and she begrudgenly accepted it. No sooner after that she decided to adopt 2 gay boys, and for the last 4 months, we have been living with these 2 "pets" and their associated friends! I should have agreed to a small puppy or kitten as it would have been far less expensive and messy. OMG Lanette, I was under the impression that gays typically were fastidious and creative(I know, stereotype) Well, essentially these boys are lazy pigs! No job, no life...essentially gay bums.
Humans are the most expensive pets of all! I know what you mean. I didn't know that there was an "adopt a gay" program? It sounds like great fun, although it is sad that your boys are devoid of creative talent so far. Hopefully they will discover some in all of their spare time that they currently have. :)
Awwwh! Yay! Congratulations!
Thanks! Stardust is the most affectionate cat ever. She did not want to leave my lap. I think that is why she is so sad in her photo. She's only happy when getting and giving lots of love.
KITTEHS! Congrats on your new babies!
Are you going to need color coded collars to tell them apart? ;p
Tizzy has a white locket on her neck and Stardust is a bit bigger. They are both microchipped and will be indoors only, so no collars for our girls! That means they get full neck rubs, which they should love.
Yeah, we don't do collars either... but our cats don't look that much alike! As long as YOU can keep track :)
I'm sure they look less alike in person than in those 2 pics.
They are beautiful babies. Also, as a cat rescuer, I want to thank you for adopting adult cats. They are often over looked (especially during kitten season) and need good people to love them.
Thanks! Poor Tizzy has been in the shelter since January (this time-She was in for 6 months as a kitten too). People won't adopt black cats because they are superstitious sometimes, but Stardust picked me and I just couldn't leave her there after she spent time on my lap. Tizzy is clamer and less in your face, but also a very sweet cat. We wanted to get males, but we met these cats and they picked us, so as of Tuesday our family is complete!! Yay! So happy to have these new additions.
We are following the shelter recommendations for introducing them slowly and UGH we got no sleep and Ashley got so mad she bit Craig's ankle. *sigh* It's gonna be a rough week.
You might also try taking a towel and rubbing it all over Ashley and then putting it under Tizzy and Stardusts food bowls and vice versa. It will help them all get used to the smells and realize they are supposed to be there.
That sounds good! Oh,..this gives me an idea. I have the little liner from Tizzy's cat carrier that she was in. I can put that under Ashley's dish tonight.
Good idea. I hope everyone settles in soon. :)
Thanks. I was discouraged and fretting, but seeing how much better the girls were doing already this morning got me feeling like it is going to get better. It may be a tough week, but it will be worth it.
We warn people that it could take at least a week, but my three all got along after 3 days (or less).
Poor Tizzy has been in the shelter since January, so I'm so glad to give her a home after over 6 months in a cage. Stardust comes home Tuesday. She picked me and would not get off of my lap. She is the most loving girl.
What a way to start my Monday! This is such great news :-) Kudos to you and Craig for adopting & rescuing adult cats! They need lovin' too and are often much easier to introduce to the home than a kitten cause they're usually better behaved, more appreciative and box trained. Plus, they won't climb your curtains. Ha.
Your girls are just adorable and I can't wait to meet them in person! HOOOOOORAY!
How's Miss Ashley handling the new arrivals? xo
Wow, Ashley is not happy and bit her Daddy on the ankle to show her displeasure. :(
However, after a night of howling and hissing, we gave both girls extra attention this morning and I was able to go pet Tizzy and then let Ashley sniff my fingers and pet her and get her purring, so slowly but surely. It's going to be a rough week for kitties, but you will not believe what amazing and affectionate girls we have. Ages are 2 years for Stardust, Tizzy's 6th birthday is in August, and Ashley just turned 16, so I think once we get everyone slowly introduced we'll be ok.
We (the friend I'm living with and her daughter) went to petsmart and looked at the homeless kitties while there, but alas, Jamie is allergic and I was afraid the two dogs would view them as walking chew toys. Patches is part lab, pit, and I swear he's got mastiff in there somewhere. Roxie is half lab, half rottie, and is just the sweetest dog ever, but is jealous over her Shannon.
