I just love it! I think the henna inspired design is beautiful and matches the style I like. I also enjoy that it's so adjustable meaning that it will fit my waist well even if I manage to regain back up to a size 8 or so. It closes at 25", so easily can look good up to 32". I'd wear it down to about 26" at this point, so less than an inch at each gap.
Wow! I feel like I can't breathe just looking at it, but it's pretty!
This doesn't even having boning, and isn't a small size, so I won't be tightlacing with it. This is more a decorative peice that I'm hoping to plan a custom Halloween costume around! I'm thinking Celtic Warrior Princess.
Hey! Maybe you can wear it to the Ren Faire you were wanting to attend..I bet it would look smashing with a costume of sorts. I always used to love those and dressed up every year with an empire waisted dress.
I think it would be fantastic for that sort of outing!
I think it's very creative and I love the leather tooling. I couldn't pass this up because it was my size and the perfect design for me. :) He has more for sale at http://halafax.livejournal.com/62607.html#cutid2 and I think he's talented. I'll let you know how it goes once I get it. This isn't quite a normal "corset" as I think of it, but is still a beautiful corsetlike leather. For me to consider it a true "corset" it has to be steel boned.
Right. But goodness, it's gorgeous, even if it isn't a true corset or cincher. Hey, did you see that woman on a Discovery (I think it was Discover Health) who'd been wearing corsets and cinchers for years and years and had like a 15 inch waist? This is her: http://www.neatorama.com/2005/11/26/cathie-jungs-15-inch-waist/
Wow! I've seen her before. Hard to believe she is 68 years old!
I know! She looks great though, if not a little extreme.
Well, I'm not really into the tightlacing fetish but I have respect for the dedication it takes.
I'm not into it either, but like you, I can respect it.
They're here in Atlanta I believe. :)
Yes! Although, personally, from having WORN leather, I'd rather go out with it in Seattle than most of the year in Atlanta. Talk about sweat city.
Very true. My Pendragon is leather and suede and I was comfortable in April, but I don't think it would have been great in June.
You look beautiful in that outfit! I love it! I have the same feather fan for if I go to a faire if it's maroon like your skirt.
Thanks! That fan was just a plastic and lace one with little pearl beads. I bought a silk and wood one while at the faire that's much nicer.
I need to buy new sude side pieces for the corset because it's from before WLS and the above is with it tightened all the way down. I had 2 inches of extra room in that pic and I've lost more weight since then. (Deleted comment)
Dark Garden is the most expensive corsetier. I've looked them up. I've heard wonderful things about their custom corsets, but at $400 and up, I'm not sure I'll be looking to get one anytime soon.
I already sold all of my corsets which were too large (luckily). (Deleted comment)
For how often I wear them (which is just for costume and occasions I can dress up to go out), I can't justify spending that much. I'd really rather have the whole dress I was drooling over for that much money than just that one corset.
Beautiful! Why did you send your ring back?
The ring kept losing stones and when I sent it back they were out of stock and it was going to take forever and I just lost faith that the ring I liked was a good design when I lost the same stone from the 2nd ring within 30 days.
Ohhhhhh...GORGEOUS! I can hardly wait to see a full-length picture!
I already have an ankle length cream colored tulle skirt that will match this. Not sure what would look nice as a top under this, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. It shipped today!
That is absolutely gorgeous! It would fit my big toe, though, haha.
Also I got your card :D Thank you! It's the only one I'll get. *cherishes*
Yay! I'm glad you got the card and liked it. :) |
