|What girls want

The only thing I wanted to be when I grew up, when I was a young girl, was beautiful. Think back to when you were little. I have heard so much about childhood dreams and The Last Lecture is on my mind. What were my dreams as a child. Oh yes, to be a waitress at Denny's. To be beautiful. To jump on the bed. To watch TV and Movies. To have friends stay over whenever I wanted to. To wear lots of jewelry and makeup.|
Well, mission accomplished. This is all I dreamed of. I have more than I dreamed of. If I'm living out my dreams all I need is a great deal of glitter and pastel colored tulle gowns with lots of time to do makeup each day.
Being useful was not part of my dream. Doing "greater good" didn't matter. Only tea parties. Castles. Reading a book down by the river.
I guess deep in my soul, like most children, I'm a shallow and vain creature. Quite a frivolous thing.
Perhaps, unlike Randy, I don't think my childhood dreams are the be all, end all to aspire to, but I did like his speech.
When I was four I wanted to be a mermaid when I grew up.
Lovely! Sounds like a nice Halloween costume.
Definitely a complicated one.
I wanted to be a doctor and save the world. *shrug*
:) That is sweet. I'd still love to see you do it.
Changing the world through medicine isn't my dream anymore. Changing the world through research and teaching is. :)
there is nothing at all shallow about beauty. it's all in the way you perceive it and include it in your life.
That is so lovely. Thanks for the reminder. I needed that today.
When I was very little I wanted to be a lion tamer. Then I wanted to be an actress. When I was about 8 I saw a psychic on TV and I wanted to do that.
So far I have been an actress and psychic but I'm afraid being a lion tamer is no longer PC so that's probably off the table.
