1 pint heavy whipping cream 2/3 cup sugar mixed with 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg 2 tbs chai tea powder 1 tsp real vanilla extract 1/2 cup plain granulated sugar
Put all ingredients into mixer (you can use a hand mixer or if you have a kitchenaid and are spoiled like me, do that). Mix on low for 1-2 minutes.
Pour slowly into ice cream maker following directions.
Freeze afterwards so it can set up.
If you will notice this is a RICH gourmet ice cream with basically NO air. I suggest eating 1/4 cup or less in a tiny fancy dish. This is scrumptous and amazing ice cream but has a very adult type flavor. I continue to experiment leading up to the BBQ. We shall have a daytime ice cream that will be for kiddos (Vanilla Bean most likely) and a fancy night time gelato (lavender or rose possibly).
I am proud of this ice cream because I do a few things with talent that I love. One is I make good dessert. Another is I make good comfort food if I trust my gut and just DO it without recipe. My cooking from the heart is best. I can't bake, but I can cook.
Favorite cake - I like all kinds of cake. I HATE that nasty overly-sweet Crisco-y frosting that most cake bakers use. I think Costco makes pretty decent cakes. But you know... I can always take off the frosting!!!
Now you got me thinking about carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Damn...
One of my friends has one but I don't know if I'd use it enough to make it worth it. A small one might be really nice, though. I don't need to make that much.
