Poor Craig! I hope this gets fixed for him SOON.
I'm going to call him and noon and ask if he's got a response. If not maybe he can call in? It's urgent.
Oh geez! I hope the HR department comes through soon! Would it help at all to phone someone? Or for the doc to write something up?
What poor timing Craig's kidneys have. I hope he feels better soon. Don't let the stress of this get in the way of your healing, ok?
I'm going to see if he can use my Credit card and we can just file a claim later. He needs to be seen. I'm worried about him and you're right, I can't deal with this stress on top of my own healing.
I hope it's something that can be resolved quickly! I think the CC/file later should work, if you have the room available on your card. Health is most important!
It seems every machine is just SO expensive, but geeze, he has GOT to be seen. I don't want him peeing blood for 4 days without it being checked. It could be dangerous.
I'm assuming, if he's peeing blood, that means the stones are too big to pass on his own?
I say go to the ER. You can worry about payment later.
He went and they ordered the CT scan and a prescription he refused to fill! Argh. Men! I'm trying.
Tell him to DO IT - he does NOT want to endanger his man-unit!
I told him he MUST protect the baby making equipment.
He promised insurance card or no he will email me when it is and schedule it today. :) At least then I'll worry less.
Poor Craig! I hope it all works out and he can get taken care of soon!
I just emailed him. I'm ready to start phone tag and get him in. He looked SO uncomfortable last night. My poor baby. As you can imagine he is NOT sleeping well.
Yikes! Kidney stones are not good. I hope insurance info comes soon and that he can heal up soon too.
Men! Feh. I love them to death, and they can be stubborn beyond belief. (So can I for that matter, but I digress!)
He should be on the PHONE with HR, not sending them a letter; and yes, he should get the CT scan done. If he goes in, and says, "look, I've got new insurance, don't have the info, and can't pay cash for this, can we set up an installment thing," the hospital will be more than willing to work with him.
Please tell him that the collective **US** says, "Don't mess with it. Kidney failure is NOT an option."
I told him that if that kidney stone messes up the baby making equiptment I'm going to kill someone and that means alot of jailtime and it's more expensive than a CT scan to bail me out.
Well, not to mention the pain.
You know, kidney stones are about as close to giving birth as men get. Suggest that we won't think him less manly if he goes for the epidural. :)
I agree with a previous poster--bring him a cell phone and have him call them every hour (or you can if he tells them it's ok).
Cranberry tablets and as much water as he can drink will make him more comfortable--my whole family has a special sensitivity to calcium that results in kidney stones. Cranberry juice is too sweet and doesn't have enough of the stuff needed to alter the environment to rub down the "rough" edges of the stones, but the tablets and plenty of water will do the job nicely.
Golden seal extract will reduce inflammation (don't take it for more than 10 days, however, or it can have a negative affect).
Sadly, I used to be UTI girl, and my family's history with kidney stones makes me all too familiar with the issue.
I hope he feels better soon. |
