All your varieties of columbine are GORGEOUS! Do you cultivate them yourself? I harvest the seeds and have a few varities I'd swap you!
Is that what those are called? I love those! I bought some of them at Home Depot and some of them were already planted when I moved in here. How do you harvest the seeds?
Wait until the flowers are finished and they'll get these 4 or 5 pronged seed pods. Give them some time to dry up and start to turn brown, then just snip off the whole pod. It will be full of tiny black seeds. You can sow them immediately (they'll lay dormant until spring), or save them in a cool, dry place to sow the following year. I did a big batch of purples with yellow centers last year and there are baby columbine all over.
Have you tried something other than Whitestrips? Or are they what you recommend?
Nope. I recommend whitestrips. They work great! Why use anything else if you don't need to? They are very affordable. Sign up for the crest club and they mail you a $7 off coupon.
I've been a religious user of whitestrips since 1999. Craig said my brain is bleached like coral reef I've used so much of it. :)
I signed up for the brain bleaching. Thanks for the tip. I want my smile to be as pretty as my girlfriends.
Also, I got Craig to use them in preparation for his interview, but he is whiny about it. I try to make him pretty like a princess with white teeth and soft well glossed lips (no dry chapped lips). He resists, but I bribe him with kisses.
My next step for "operation look a gift Craig in the mouth" is him going to the dentist AND regularly flossing. I'm crazy about my teeth becaues I have over 20k of dental work! I can't afford to slack on my dental health.
I have to think that bribes with Lanette kisses have to be pretty effective. :D
I especially love the columbines, and your gleaming grill!
I remember gardening in Seattle: the moisture just really worked for everybody. I think my only disappointment was that the season didn't seem long enough for really good tomato action.
Thanks! I hope my gleaming grill makes a good impression at my important meetings next week. I'm so excited/nervous!
I love your makeup, as always (I know this is more subdued than usual, but it looks great). :)
the columbines are GORGEOUS! They are one of my favorite flowers -- my mom gave me a bunch of her seeds from her pods last year and hopefully next year (it takes them two years to come up) I'll have some.
Congrats on all the herbs -- they look great! I love cooking with stuff from the garden :)
Thanks! I'm going to do my makeup more like this for my business trip as I think it's more appropriate and professional for my meetings.
I just love our yard! It came with most of this stuff.
You and your garden both look luscious! I love your columbines and your mirror ball!
Thank you! The columbines with the yellow centers are brand new (I bought them last weekend) as is the Mirror Ball. Fred Meyer had a good sale.
I love the fresh herbs. Next I want to grow mint so I can make mojitos. I'd also love some climbing sweet peas and daliahs.
Thank you for making me smile. :)
You're welcome! My yard makes me smile too. I love spring.
