Coat Wars 2008 [Apr. 1st, 2008|07:00 pm]
Lanette
[Current Mood |cheerfulcheerful]

Coat A
Pros: Lining feels nice and is satiny. Coat feels like it is better quality. Longer and will cut the wind better for spring. Purple color is fun and says "spring".
Cons: Tight in the chest. I don't like the neck as well. Matches fewer items. The tie is crazy short.

Coat B
Pros: Longer tie is more sensible. I love the ruffled butt and pockets. I like the buttons better. Matches more items.
Cons: Black is boring. The liner feels more like plastic than satiny like the other one.

As far as why I look pale and unhappy? Blame the Migraine return :( Do not let my expression sway your vote towards no coat because I do like the coats. Both cost the same and are size L. Size XL is WAY too big, and by Size L I mean Size L in China. My size 8 jeans are too big in some cases, so this is a Jrs brand.
Poll #1164430 Coat Wars 2008

After considering all factors, I vote you keep

Coat A

Coat B

Neither Coat
14(31.1%)

So funny that as I write this reply, an ad for Lyrica comes on the TV.

But I don't think either coat really does anything for you. There are better ones out there for you.

I'd prefer to see something more fitted in the hips, anyway.

I'm specifically looking for something that isn't fitted in the hips because I wear many skirts that go out at the hips in the springtime. I do need something that has princess seams though because I have a huge difference between my waist and hips, so I look much bigger than I am if it doesn't have a waist.

Actually, I think you should exchange the black coat for the RED one!!!!

The red one has too orangy a tone on me. I tried their red (it was too small) and it didn't look good on. The White looked HUGE.

I like the black coat but the back of the coat is a little bustly in the back in a way that doesn't look good.

I like the back ruffle. My main hesitation is that the fabric is not as I'd hoped/expected.

In my opinion the purple is more flattering overall. Personally it's 20 times more stylish in my opinion with the neckline and looks more quality. Note that across the shoulders it fits and makes for a nice long, lean silhouette. The black however bunches up at each shoulder and the way the ruffling hits under the belt makes you look boxy and disproportionate from the back. The front is nice but the shoulders are really bugging me on it. The purple also is not at all a classic color or fabric choice and will look dated probably after a season or two. Granted by that point you'll have a larger bust anyway and it wouldn't fit regardless. Doesn't leave much room for your future bosoms does it? I think the only conclusion I can come to is this... I just say no. Yep. Neither. That's my two cents.

I'm disappointed with the quality of the fabric on both. I think they all need to go back.

Lanette.. to be honest, that purple jacket is absolutely hideous. It is not flatering to you whatsoever.. The fabric on both jackets bunches up too much and makes you look bulkier then you are.

I think, imo, you need something with fabric that hangs more easily.. doesn't have ruffles, however is fitted giving you atleast the impression of having princess seams when the belt is cinched.. i dunno, this is just my opinion.

I'd stay away from Black too.. you have too much personality for black

I think something like this would be really cute on you:

i know this one is black, but the cut is cute imo http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2962165/0~2376776~2374327~2374337~6004084?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6004084&P=5

it more fits the style of the other two but has a fabric that will hang better on you, imo of course :)

I actually like both of those that are mentioned above by krysteena. I don't really think either coat does you justice. Maybe something with a bit more drape to it? They both look kind of stiff?

That one is too straight with insufficient lower fabric for my body, although stylish and in the budget range. The coat hunt continues.

I think coat B is professional, cute, flattering and will look good with so many things.

It's pricey and pink, but I thought I'd throw it out into the ring:

I like the shape of A better -- the "skirt" part seems to flare out more smoothly.

If you can wear juniors sizes easily (it seems you can), have you looked at forever21.com? I saw this one and liked it.

I really don't know where to shop for coats. I also liked but it looks heavier -- VERY nice shape, though, and crazy discount.
