Nerd Handbook

While reading it, I took significant issue with

As you discovered when you were the project, your nerd’s focus can be deliciously overwhelming, but it will stop. Once a nerd believe he fully knows how a system works, the challenge to understand ceases to exist and he moves on in search of The Next High.

Ummm no. You don't get to be inconsiderate of others, ignore me, act in a totally selfish manner following just whatever you want to do, and still get to keep me. You wouldn't accept a partner who treated you that way, so why should we? That isn't "accepting your personality", that is accepting your lack of making effort. I refuse. Make me a priority like I do for you. Consider something besides yourself, or don't let the door hit you on the way out. I wonder how low your self-esteem has to get before you are content with a relationship like this. I'd really rather be alone.

Reading stuff like this makes me wonder why I'm even straight.

It is fine with me if Craig has a tendency to do this, but if it actually IS the way he treats me most of the time, that isn't acceptable to me.

It's my natural inclination to be crabby, moody, and totally unreasonable when in pain, yet, if I were to usually treat Craig this way and think it was ok to abuse him, I'd expect him to kick me to the curb also.
