Returning home was so nice. Craig and I have such an unreasonably great life together. We watched Meercat Manor, which we both love. We later listened to this book on CD that we've been enjoying for months! It's Dune: The Butlerian Jihad, written by the son of the guy who wrote Dune. I made fun of Craig when he bought it for super cheap at half-price books, but it has made many road trips enjoyable, and we listened to it for a bed time story last night. Now I want to get Dune itself on CD to listen to as a follow up. It is sort of neat that Craig and I both like fantasy and some sci-fi in movies and books.
Plus, it is insane how nice our house is. Our master suite is twice as large as the bed and breakfast's suite, which costs over $250 a night! We live in a place nicer than sleeping in a hotel! It is good to go away and realize what you have when you come home. One downside of the weekend was the bed we slept on. It made my pain so bad that on Saturday I felt like I was being stabbed and woke up at 3am, unable to get back to sleep for a few hours. It hurt bad enough that I started to panic and had to calm myself down. I get so desperate when the pain is so bad that I even consider breaking the law. I know why people end up illegally getting pain medications. Luckily, it is better today and my "breakthrough" pain only lasts a day or two at most. I just wish my doctor would give me 10 more pills per month, so on a day like that I can get it back under control. I guess that would just build my tolerance up, so maybe I'm being unreasonable. He's the doctor, not me. Then again, I'm the one who feels like I have a leg filled with lava and am being stabbed in the buttcheek with a knife. Unless you experience nerve pain, it is hard to know how all consuming it is. Have you ever had to get a root canal? You know that nerve pain from the tooth dying? That is what I have down my whole right leg (mostly at the top to the knee) all of the time. Some days better than others. I would do anything to get it to shut off, but if they shut off that nerve I wouldn't be able to walk, so the pain is better than the alternative.
Another one of my favorite traditions is the Bavarian Soap Company. Here is me huffing soap! I got some amazing Creme Brulee soap, as well as one called Napa Vineyard, and one scented like my favorite perfume, Aquolina Pink Sugar. Yes, I like sweet smelling stuff. I always have, but now I don't eat it so much as wear it and bathe in it. It's strange how we compensate. I suppose some people might find it easier to just step away from all things sweet, but somehow, for me, it is comforting to smell like candy and vanilla, as well as Creme Brulee. Craig bought me a few special soaps too! Blueberry Vanilla, and Blueberry Wine. Both smell amazing. I got a special hard to find gift for my Mom, so my first Christmas gift is purchased.
Also, for those who need to know, I didn't gain any weight over the weekend, nor did I lose any. I'm maintaining at the bottom of the goal range at -5lbs from goal.
