I finished the costumes. We put them on. We got all ready. We got the stuff to bring to the party and headed out. We were less than 1/3 the way there after 40 minutes and the weather was totally unsafe. After another horrid drive, we are back home and didn't get to go to the party. :(
I hope tomorrow is better. I said that yesterday. Sometimes I wonder why Craig and I live here. I could get a job in San Jose and so could he.
On the plus side, we do have photos of us in our dirty harry potter costumes. So sad we didn't get to go because I've been looking forward to it for so long.
sorry you didn't get to go but now you have to play
Dirty Harry Potter at home....with each other
Craig did try to cheer me up and was amused by my costume. I'm posting photos today.
The main thing keeping me here is my Mom and sister live in the area and I'm very close to them. Also I have some wonderful long term friends here.
I lived in the bay area and IT SUCKED! I don't know what it is about CA but it sucks the soul out of people. Plus you BETTER know spanish if you want to be able to communicate with the people who are offering you service at stores, restaurants, wherever. On the other hand Lan would love to make road trips to come see you. But more importantly, I WOULD MISS YOU!!! OK, so the weather can sometimes be difficult here, but it can everywhere. LA had temps in the 90s IN MARCH! And then there was the time when it rained more than it does here. Basically, doesn't matter where you go on this planet, there will be something about the weather that people complain about.
They are posted now. Very silly. I am so sad we missed all of the other costumes.
Your commute would be just as bad, if not worse, in San Jose, because to afford a house comparable to the one you just bought, you would have to move to Fresno.
True, but they have trains there that go to San Jose, and not as many weather related problems. My family and friends aren't there though.
On a completely different note, it appears my friend Jina attends the knitting group at Adobe, and she's actually met you! Small world and all that. She's expecting in December. I told her you knew a lot and were quite awesome.
Which, well, you are and you do.
Living in CA is way more expensive than here (that's why I'm here, actually), and I have a strong feeling the weather there (fair all the time) might get to you after a while.
Cool! I know it costs more there, but my manager training starts in Jan and there are more opportunities in San Jose, so both of us could make more as well. Craig really likes the Sunny weather (he likes Santa Barbara though, not San Jose). Honestly, I don't think I'd be happy living so far from my Mom and sister because I really love spending time with them.
I haven't been going to knitting lately. I'm stuck on this scarf that I have been working on for ages. I'll have to go so I can see Jina before she goes on maternity leave! What department is she in?
Customer Care (I think). She's a tech writer.
