Help me oh geeks [Sep. 13th, 2007|10:00 am]
[Current Mood |curiouscurious]

I'm taking a class that I'm very excited about on Monday. However, I have 2 days to review my basic Object Oriented Programming concepts. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to review the basic concepts (Not language specific).

I do have some knowledge in this area. I just need a quick refresher and hopefully something that won't put me to sleep. Anything interactive or that has audio and video is preferred as I'm a better learner if it is more than just reading.

Thanks for helping me. I may have fun web apps to share that are sexy. My goal isn't to write code, but to make amazing things for the web writing as little as possible (which still means I need to write some).

Asked the hubby, and this is what he said:
"well it's got to be .net or java to be object oriented for the web
not really, never been out of it long enough to need a refresher, and i prefer reading to video or interactive...
if you can get technical direction might be able to point to something, basic overview of oop can be found just about anywhere, most everybody says the same thing..."

So if that makes sense to you, lemmie know....

Well, *cough cough* There is some new stuff that isn't .net or java that is object oriented for the web.

I found this http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/java/concepts/ which is quite an awesome review! Thanks for asking.

Meh! I had a wonderful response, and the stupid internet ate it!!!

*ugh* He said, the link you gave is still java base, just not web specific for dev...but that looks like it'll fit what you were wanting :)

I hate the internet some days...*laugh*

Unfortunately, W3Schools.com doesn't have a specific one for OO, but it does have good ones on OO implementations like .Net and such. (Did I mention I love that site?) (:

ootips.org may have some good, more generic stuff for you.

are you taking a RoR class? :)

Not yet, but I am interested in Ruby at some point. It's a flex builder 2.1 class.

Whoa. That stuff is so over my head it isn't even funny. I've read 4 tutorials and explanations of classes and I still feel like an idiot. I think I might just have to go ahead and try it with very little understanding and see how it goes.
