Mfing thoughts On a train man [Sep. 21st, 2009|05:46 pm]

I adore commuting by train. Perhaps lightrail could be an option? I despise driving. Trains are like daily sunshine. I love. Thankfully there are no snakes on this train.

I think you'd have to drive to Tukwila to do light rail from where you're at.

I love trains, when I'm on vacation in Europe I will opt for a longer journey if it means I can take a train instead of a plane. And even now, it's my favorite way to get to Vancouver or Portland, so relaxing.

I remember how you used to talk about getting a cute cottage near a Sounder station, if I were the sort to buy a house (I hate the idea of yardwork), that would be a priority for me.

I don't love yardwork so much, but I love flowers from the yard for sure.

The only place with cute small houses near the train is Sumner. I do adore those houses. SO cute!

I hated commuting by train, but that was because of some of my personality quirks.

The nice thing about commuting by train is that it's no longer wasted time. You can read or write or let your eyes unfocus and daydream -- all things that are impossible whilst driving. Plus it builds more walking into life in a natural non-exercisey kind of way.

It may be different. We have very comfortable and charming trains with pretty trees and mountains out the window, which makes it quite nice.

Wouldn't it be better to just drive to Tukwila and take the train than to drive all the way to work? Or would that not work. Is the train only to Safeco and Qwest fields?

Nope. It's pointless because I have to still take the shuttle from the train station to work, so it takes me longer that way and the train ride is only like 10 mins that way, so not worth it to wait for the train, take longer than driving, and I still have to go past the 405 interchange. Now, if it was on the MV side of COURSE it would be, but there is no Renton stop.
