Review-Celestial Seasoning Zingers to Go [May. 19th, 2009|11:51 am]

[Current Mood |cheerfulcheerful]

Blueberry Splash
Cost $3.54 at Safeway for 10 packets
Sugar Free (uses stevia)
0 calories
All natural
Contains anti-oxidants
Makes your water purple!
Has caffeine

I give this stuff 4 out of 5 because it is hard to get it to "unlump" when you put it in the water bottle. The taste is refreshing and not overly sweet and I'll admit that just using 2 packets I've already gotten in twice the water I normally do by this time of day and I'm thrilled with that. If it can get me up to my water goal on a regular basis it will be well worth the 35 cents per bottle of purple water.

Well, teas are generally more popular in Canada and these are in Safeway which I know they have in Canada. Check next to the Celestial Seasonings teas since that's where I found mine.

I wish we were able to buy the generic Tylenol plus codeine here in the US over the counter since it works wonders for headaches, but alas we can't.

When you write "makes you water purple!" did you mean the water the mix is in or do you mean my pee?

I haven't noticed any purple pee. Just the water in the bottle.

Sounds tasty, even for those of us who love water!

I'm so bummed. I got a new, HUGE water bottle and filled it up for the first time this morning, then forgot it on my kitchen counter!

I hope you remembered your water today. For all of my forgetting to drink it (because I drink more interesting tasting things), I sure feel better when I get in all of my water.

Yup! I remembered my new, giant water bottle, and I'm already down 4 cups today. How about you?

I am also on the blueberry juice...

I dont know if they have costco up in WA, but, there is this juice I get, it is a combo of blueberry juice and acacia berry. I add maybe a shot of this juice to a 2 liter soda bottle filled with club soda....I get blueberry soda!!!! I have been dosing myself with blueberrys every day too. After I read an article in Scientific American(last month's edition) about how in the hippocampus(an area in the brain where memory, emotions etc are processed) blueberrys actually promote brain cell growth!! I am also off all artificial sweetners(aspartame, sucralose etc) because, there was anedotal/empirical evidence that it contributed to short term memory loss and concentration/focus problems...and I can tell you straight out...I am 1000 percent more focused now and my memory is back!!

Re: I am also on the blueberry juice...

Last year for my birthday my sister and brother in law gave me 2 blueberry bushes! It takes them at least a few years before they start giving berries, but I'm so excited! Next year or perhaps the one after I'll have homegrown organic blueberries to eat!

I also just planted some zucchini to go with my rosemary and other herbs.

This is a powder you mix into cold water that is in a closed container (either a 16.9oz bottle or one of those metal refillables). It's calorie free. I like it pretty well.
