E.L.F.--way over it [Oct. 28th, 2008|02:20 pm]

You know how excited I was about e.l.f. products? That was before I made a huge order and 3/4 of it SUCKS. The mineral veil is the only item I'd buy again. They accept NO refunds or exchanges. Never buy the nailpolish, lipgloss, lip balm, eyeliners, concealer, or mineral foundation. F----- would not buy anything from them again. I have lots of crap I don't want in an envelope here. Feel free to come try it out if you come over.

Ok, I'm off to the doctor.

I agree totally. I guess you do get what you pay for. :(

I do like the waterproof eyeliner - it actually doesn't smudge! But, a lot of the other stuff (and I spent a LOT) blows. Kinda the quality of "wet and wild" makeup. Oh well. Lesson learned.

I *HATE* the concealer/pressed powder/bronzing powder. I was ORANGE!!

Ditto this. I like the lip gloss okay, and the blush is usable, but the rest is just crap. Particularly the eyeshadow.

On the other hand, you might be surprised to try Avon. It's relatively inexpensive, but still great quality (although sometimes the packaging leaves something to be desired.

I got some elf makeup from the ferry terminal here a while back. I really liked the lip gloss I got, and some tweezers and eyelash curler, but the eyeliner sucked.

I also second Avon. Its actually quite good and is decently priced, even better when they have sale items.
Their liquid eyeshadow is the only kind I use, and a color eyeshadow pencil stick...and their eye makeup remover is the only kind I have EVER found that actually works and doesn't sting.

I don't like the quality of any of the e.l.f. products I've tried. I guess I'm a snob or just screwed now, that I've been using Bare Escentuals, Lancome, Clinique, and Estee Lauder. Although, my favorite mascara is by Max Factor and I use mineral foundation by Physicians Formula. :)

Bare Essensuals is expensive, but I think it's worth it. I absolutely LOVE what it does for my skin. It lasts all day. If I am going out at night, all I refresh is the area around my nose and mouth. Sometimes I will redo the mineral veil. I go through twice as much mineral veil as I do foundation.

I also tried Sheer Cover. I like Sheer Cover's moisturizer and their concealer, but prefer Bare Essensuals foundation, mineral veil and 'warmth' for blush.

Yes. It is going to be awhile. I just had surgery last Wed, so until I'm up and walking I won't be likely to be able to locate them. I'll let you know when I send them.
