Running running [Apr. 7th, 2008|12:57 pm]
Lanette
[Current Mood |running]

Went to the gym today. A bright person would not push their luck as I already have nerve pain again and I am stupidly low on pills, but being me I continued running. 2 different 1.5 minute stretches. I guess I just want the endorphins. (well, and I can't give up on the dream)

My will may be no match for reality, but as reality comes crashing down I intend to make a lasting and possibly flailing imprint.

I just want to be able to run for 5 minutes. I really do.

Is other type of exercise out of the question? Can you do yoga or weight lifting?

Oh, I do other types of exercise. Mostly walking and weights. Yoga is boring and not my thing.

Anyhow, the problem is my dream is to run for 5 minutes and really nothing else will do.

Why do you want to do this? Is there any reason?

Yes. To me the ability to run for 5 minutes means you are really in good health and also, should you be chased you have a reasonable chance of getting away (as reasonable as most other people).

Lanette, my Dad can still run for 5 minutes. He used to run all the time, and did so regularly until a couple of years ago when he got attacked by a dog. But what I'm saying is "Running Five Minutes" is not the equivalent of "I Am Healthy". You know that health has TONS of other factors and many, many ways of manifesting itself other than to have to do something that is, at this point, UNhealthy and self destructive.

Again, I love you. I get scrappy when anything hurts you. Including you.

*nods* It isn't a real thing. It's a dream. Dreams are aspirations you have in life or things you really want to do. Even if "be a rockstar" isn't real, it's what you hope to do or at least play at one day.

I'm hoping. Do you think Hugh Jackman can still run fast at his ripe old age?

Hopefully faster than you. How else do you expect him the catch you?

Seriously though, it's my DREAM, not a goal, but something I dream about being able to do. When I walk fast on the treadmill I feel driven to run sometimes. I just have so much energy I wish I could take flight. Does that make sense?

Yes. I just wish there was some way that you could accomplish your dream without hurting your body:( But if it hurts either way...

I think I'll get there even if it isn't right now.

Sometimes it seems like you do things to "punish" your body, like you're angry at it for not cooperating. Can't say I blame you for the frustration... but the running toward pain (literally) would concern anyone who cares about you sweetie.

Limitations suck. You don't deserve them. But please don't hurt yourself more?

I love you.

Well, it doesn't make any difference if I exercise or not. The pain is there. I'm just hoping the endorphins at least will help.

GOing to see the dr. in the morning. Headache still :(

I used to always say that I didn't believe in running unless you were being chased.

Now that I can run without feeling like I'm going to die in like, 2 seconds, I enjoy it a little bit. So I totally get your need/want to run.
