So funny that as I write this reply, an ad for Lyrica comes on the TV.
But I don't think either coat really does anything for you. There are better ones out there for you.
I'd prefer to see something more fitted in the hips, anyway.
I'm specifically looking for something that isn't fitted in the hips because I wear many skirts that go out at the hips in the springtime. I do need something that has princess seams though because I have a huge difference between my waist and hips, so I look much bigger than I am if it doesn't have a waist.
Well that makes sense.
If I had to pick one of those two, I would pick the second.
To compare against, this is my winter coat which I LOVE! I wish I could get this in a lighter material for spring in one size smaller. That would be my ideal thing. To find it in aqua.

I've already tried it in person. Too big, shapeless, and not cut right.
3/4 sleeve on something that goes over other items just doesn't sit right with me. I'm so picky!
Must cover marsupial pouch. 28" is a no. See why it takes me forever?
how long is your winter coat?
Actually, I think you should exchange the black coat for the RED one!!!!
The red one has too orangy a tone on me. I tried their red (it was too small) and it didn't look good on. The White looked HUGE.
You're making me want a new spring coat!!! I just have a cream/khaki trench I bought at Kohls last summer on clearance of course! - maybe I need to try it on to see if it fits!
I like the black coat but the back of the coat is a little bustly in the back in a way that doesn't look good.
I like the back ruffle. My main hesitation is that the fabric is not as I'd hoped/expected.
I suppose that is where my concern lay -the fabric didn't do the ruffle proper justice. When it doesn't lay right it can look a bit funny.
In my opinion the purple is more flattering overall. Personally it's 20 times more stylish in my opinion with the neckline and looks more quality. Note that across the shoulders it fits and makes for a nice long, lean silhouette. The black however bunches up at each shoulder and the way the ruffling hits under the belt makes you look boxy and disproportionate from the back. The front is nice but the shoulders are really bugging me on it. The purple also is not at all a classic color or fabric choice and will look dated probably after a season or two. Granted by that point you'll have a larger bust anyway and it wouldn't fit regardless. Doesn't leave much room for your future bosoms does it? I think the only conclusion I can come to is this... I just say no. Yep. Neither. That's my two cents.
I'm disappointed with the quality of the fabric on both. I think they all need to go back.
I actually like both of those that are mentioned above by krysteena. I don't really think either coat does you justice. Maybe something with a bit more drape to it? They both look kind of stiff?
Maybe someone else wants to pay the other 2/3rds it costs to upgrade to one of these coats? ;)
Well there is that. But if you're going to stay roughly the size you are now, would it be worth investing in a decent spring jacket?
I'm still haunting the thrift store, but I feel like I may be kind of settled in the size I am now. So maybe it's time to start investing and building my wardrobe?
I hope I am not roughly this size for long. I plan to have plastics.
Umm. I like the 2nd one, but did you notice it's like $200?
If budget is not an issue at all, I like this coat
Maybe it's cheaper somewhere other than Nordstroms? I really like this one too :)
I love that, but I believe tafetta can't get wet and won't the velvet collar be too warm for spring? I think that's more of a costume coat, although a great one!
I adore that coat!!! Sadly, it is about 1" too small.
That one is too straight with insufficient lower fabric for my body, although stylish and in the budget range. The coat hunt continues.
I think coat B is professional, cute, flattering and will look good with so many things.
Honestly, neither of those coats really does it for me.
It's pricey and pink, but I thought I'd throw it out into the ring:Link
I love that one. It would work really well with my skin tone too.
However, I can't spend $200 + tax and shipping when I'm getting my extra skin fixed before long, so this coat would last just one season.
Have you looked at TJ Maxx/Marshall's?
I need to! I've been out of town + with migraine for weeks. :( I need a shopping buddy to appear.
