They say the neon lights are WICKED on Broadway? [Mar. 11th, 2008|10:07 am]

Could not possibly want more.

Dead serious, anyone else willing to do this who actually has the cash? Life dream no doubt. Heart is pounding out of the chest right now.

It is semi-irresponsible to spend money on this, but this is the very reason why it matters to have money at all!! (to me--well besides health which takes serious money to maintain in my case)

Anyhow, they have flights from $300-400 and premium tickets are $320, so this whole trip could be done for about $1200-$1500 per person.

Sounds like you'd have a blast. When I was younger, my grandfather would give us tickets to a broadway show every year -- it's really a fabulous experience.

If it had different options of shows I might have been interested, but I'm one of the minority who isn't into Wicked -- the book was a snoozefest -- and I've already seen Legally Blonde, as well as PotO.

The music is the thing that makes Wicked worthwhile. I've seen it and just LOVE it.

I completely agree. Having the main character be an alto was AWESOME! This sounds like a blast. I hope you find someone to go with you. I could if I wasn't already going on vacation that week. But I WILL be going to a broadway show, albeit it won't be orchestra seating. I hope Hairspray will still be there when I get there. Hey, do you think I should pre-purchase my tickets or just see what's available when I get there? I'd totally pre-purchase but I'm not sure what day I'll get to NYC.

I think it is going to be expensive either way.

I'm sure you're right. Lan's mom went 10 or so years ago and said she was surprised at the cost, that it wasn't nearly as expensive as she thought it would be. I do expect to pay what I would for great seats in SEA but to get crappy seats.

It should be about $320 per ticket in most cases as only the premium tickets will be left.

There isn't a price for memories (something I often have to remind myself since we are currently in debt payoff mode and have been scraping by in the cash department for about a year now).

I say do it, it would be SO worth it. If I weren't going to be 9 months pregnant and on bedrest at the time, I would join you! Heck NYC is only a 3 1/2 hour drive for me, and I get a groovy discount at the Marriott. Maybe if you don't want to do it this particular week I could get something similar arranged at a different time that wouldn't cost you much more than the air travel and the tickets ??

Ooo great point! Jet Blue now flies direct from Seattle, so I might be able to go for a more reasonable price.

I just saw Wicked a few weeks ago and I'm newly obsessed. It rocked my world. I spent like 4-5 nights out on you tube watching all the videos whic are online.

*love*

Of course there's no way I could afford to go with you though :(

I heard Chelsea is also nice and not too much. Rent, not so much. It's all about Wicked for me.
