|Hi from San Fran
||[Mar. 5th, 2008|11:25 am]
On the plane to San Fran I made a new BFF. I turned on the woo and have a new contact. This guy is an engineer in charge of 8 factories across the US. He saw my book and we talked leadership, talent vs effort, how to build a good team, taking risk, and a load of other things including equality. He gave me his card and basically insisted I contact him. I guess that's another one for Linked In. He was delightful and smart.
Once I got to San Fran I experienced "Bart" for the first time. Whoa man. Eat my shorts! Anyhow, all was well until I had to get out of the station and I didn't realize I had to dig up my ticket for this. I inserted the ticket, and it ate it and let me out. Now I have no reciept to expense it. Oh well, out $5.35. It's a good way to travel, however, the distance between the Bart station and the office looks much smaller on a map than it appears. 40 minutes later (between traffic lights and slipping on the tears of the homeless), I appeared at the office. It is shiny and nice, but they are out of space.
Thus, I'm reporting to you from a Phone Booth. I'm tempted to leap out in Superhero gear for that reason. I have lunch with someone I've never met in 40 minutes and I have a presentation tomorrow I'm excited about.
All email from work is going well, so I'm just hoping the day keeps on keeping on this way.
I'm taking a taxi to the hotel. I'm having dinner with an online friend tonight who I've never met, anomalous_girl! I'm excited for it. I love meeting new people.
