Dream Date [Dec. 10th, 2007|11:11 am]

I said the date of my wildest dreams would be sushi for dinner, then out to Sephora with unlimited time and funds.

Craig said that wasn't a date, it was a fantasy.

Yeah, a glitter filled fantasy!

Speaking of glitter and makeup, I'm making a pinewood derby car! It will have a lipgloss theme and be focused 90% on presentation 10% on functionality (or, will be sort of like MySpace).

That's how ALL Pinewood Derby cars are. I remember my first year in Cub Scouts, my stepdad helped me build a very well-designed car. We spent a LOT of time tweaking it to make it as fast as possible.

Well, when it got on the track at our Pack Meeting, the track was so old and warped and badly assembled that it was just pure luck as to which car won.

My stepdad was so disgusted by this that he never helped me with Pinewood Derby again. I made all my cars myself after then, and the last one I made was the snazziest looking (and had NO factors of speed or performance), and I won our Derby that year anyway :)

That's a GIRL DATE! I love Sephora. I went there once with no make up on, with a drag queen friend and I left looking absolutely fabulous with an entire face of pretty. Can't beat that.

The bare minerals store is pretty fun too. The one near me plays make up with me.

key is the axles and the wheels...

My daughter and I made her car for Indian Princesses....the key to a winning car is the axles and wheels...make sure the axles are exactly 90 degrees to the body. The wheels should be perfectly round and put dry graphite inside on the axle/wheel surface.

Re: key is the axles and the wheels...

The rules state that we have to put the axles where the grooves are and that we are not allowed to alter the wheels except to smooth out the groove on the plastic.
