1/2 onion chopped 28 cals 1g
2 celery stalks chopped 20 cals 1g
1/2 package of noodles (I used macaroni, but egg noodles are ok too) 800cals 28g
1 can cream of mushroom soup 205cals 2.5g
1/2 can of peas 105cals, 6g
2 cans of Tuna 300cals, 65g
2 cups shredded cheddar 807cals 49g
1/2 package crushed potato chips 700cals 10g

Totals: 3010 cals 162.6 g
Per 1/8th the casserole 376cals 20g protein
For the record, I was only able to eat 1/16th the casserole and was very full from it. Craig got full on 1/8th the casserole.

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Boil up the onions, celery, and noodles according to the directions. Drain.
Strain peas and tuna cans and put into a 9x9 casserole dish
Add soup and the strained noodles & veggies and mix everything together.
Top with shredded cheese
Top that with crushed potato chips
Cook until the cheese is melted and the chips look golden brown

Mmmmmm, that sounds so good. I haven't had that in AGES! The closest i've come is mixing tuna & peas into my mac & cheese, but now I want some crispy tuna casserole goodness.

Maybe I'll insist my mom make it when she comes this weekend!

tuna casserole reheats AWESOMELY! :) (I've never tried to freeze it though....)

I won't eat it again most likely. I couldn't get in enough food or protein with this recipe, but Craig liked it.

That's pretty much how I make mine. I use 1 can of cream of mush. and 1 can of cream of celery, though, and omit the fresh celery. I also add a little bit of milk to make it creamier plus salt & pepper. Sometimes I'll use chunks of velveeta in addition to regular cheddar, and I use a saltine or ritz cracker crust. Delicious comfort food goodness!! :)
