Dance class was awesome last night, although I felt clumsy in the Basics II class. My improv and group dance skills are very rusty and I've lost some muscle memory. I can't remember how to do some of the combinations, and I can no longer do down hip shimmies at all. I used to get about 1 out of every 10 attempts. Now I'm at zero for 40. Not to mention, my dance practice outfits are too big, even people I danced with last fall didn't recognize me and I've only lost about 30lbs since then. I need to practice and buy a few new tops to practice in.
In great news, I'm in NO MORE PAIN than usual today even after 2 hours of dance class. I am so very glad that I decided it was worth driving to work an extra day (sorry Environment) to get back to the form of exercise I really love. Improv dance doesn't just make a person healthier, it makes you smarter, better able to see from the side of your eyes, better able to multi-task, and more confident, plus, you have better posture and flexibility. It also makes you more aware of what kind of non-verbal communication you are sending out into the world at large.
Topping off the day, my Harry Potter book was waiting in one of the large mailboxes when I got home, so I've started reading it. Anyone trying to talk to me about the book will get shushed.
