Size L, size 10 or 12? -Summer stuff to loan? Shopping advice? [Mar. 26th, 2007|09:10 am]

[Current Mood |busybusy]

I need some shorts and a few very cool t-shirts. I'm headed to Cancun in early Apriland I have nothing that fits that is summery/springy except a swim suit.

I really want some jean shorts that I love, but current fashions are gross with the knee length grandma shorts or hotpants. How about some mid length shorts? No, I don't want the 80's running shorts or any "low rise" shorts. Any suggestions or tips on where I can find the shorts mecca I desire?

I may spend lots of time in my swimming suit, and since I only have one, It is destined to be pretty sandy. I would want someone else to shop for me, as I'm out of time, but really, I would like someone else to borrow my body and try things on it, because it is hard to dress a marsupial and since I'm not plus sized, nothing is cut in the curvy and weird shape my body still is. For example, I want LONG shirts,..and not long and tight in the hip shirts. I have a pouch to accomodate here.

I may end up getting the plastics this summer, because I have such a hard time finding any clothes to fit. I have on size 12 jeans today and they are loose in the butt and legs.

I'm bottom-heavy, so for me, the problem is finding tops that fit in the shoulders (smallest part), yet accommodate the arm skin and the marsupial pouch... definitely having trouble. I don't think I'll be able to wear short-sleeve tops this summer, my arms are so freakish-looking.

I still have 30-55 pounds to lose, so I don't expect to do plastics for another 9 months (early 2008) unless I can kick up the weight-loss -- but it is so tempting to do it sooner, just to get a normal shape again!!!!

BTW, what kind of swimsuit did you get? I'll be needing one for May, but can't bring myself to go shopping for one....

I am 8lbs overweight today, so it's time to look into it. The style of wearing no sleeves also can bite me.

I got an underwire malliot (sp?) in black from newport-news.com from the ShapeFX line. I love it!

fwiw, all of the shirts I am finding right now are LONG this season. I picked up two tops (size XL and L) at Old Navy (transition clothes!) and they are both down to my mid-thigh. I am shorter than you (5'6") and I have a short torso, but it seems all of the shirts are long this season. I also found that they were all cut really big (or I've lost more weight in my upper body than I think).

can't help on shorts, everything seems to be bermuda length or gauchos. ugh.

I am 5'7" and pretty long in the torso, so I get very annoyed with short shirts and low rise pants.

Old navy is definitely going with the long shits this season, just got a few myself!
I would also check them for shorts and maybe JC Penneys? They were/are always my choice of place to go for stuff, and cheap too!

Very cute! I found a pair of jeans by Polo called the "Saturday Short" that I would love, but I could only get them in size 8. I really need 10 or 12. I could zip them, but it ain't pretty or comfy ;)

Re: No clothes either

Last night I bought 2 pairs of shorts and one skirt,..all for $40. The shorts are size 8 Petite for one pair, and the other is size 15 jr's! My body is so weird. I really wear size 12, but these are the shorts that fit.

I hope I win the ebay auction! How much would you pay on eBay? I'm going to get size 12 so I can wash them with ease and avoid any unfortunate "muffin top" incidents.
