Clothes [Nov. 8th, 2006|04:08 pm]

I'm having trouble finding basics. I bought a beautiful new sweater (Size M-Can you freaking believe it?) and I need a black tank top to go under it. Where does one go to buy basics. I also need long john shirts that are long and comfy and cheap.

I have some clothes now that I like, but my outfits are lacking in basic things. I also seek the perfect black leather boots which go all the way to the knee, have some heel but not too big, rounded or slightly pointed toes, and stay up and are non-scrunchy.

I buy most of my basics (like tanks and things) from The Gap. Inexpensive, cotton, comfy and reliable.

As for boots have you looked at zappos?

I really want to try them on because my calf is 15" and some boots have 15" and some have 14" depending on the brand. Obviously 14" isn't going to be enough. I don't have a "plus calf", but I do have a tall one, and I want the boots TO the knee, not way below it,..so I'm saying I'm a picky beotch ;)

They offer free shipping to and from them. So you can buy them, try them on and if they aren't for you, send them back.

I buy my basics at Wal-Mart since they're usually under things so quality doesn't matter so much and it's cheap there. Or try Target or Fred Meyer. I think those kind of places are going to be way cheaper than clothing stores for things like that.

I am anti going to Walmart because the screaming children scare me, but I love Target and Fred Meyer, so I'll try that! Good suggestions.

I like Eddie Bauer and the GAP for basic and boring. Old Navy had a great basic tank top that I liked so much I bought it in 5 different colors. Also, American Apparel is good for basic cotton, if sometimes a little weird.

I should check out the Gap because I'm only 13lbs away from my goal now, so some of the items could be used for awhile.

I've been pretty happy with a lot of the basics from Old Navy lately. The quality seems to be better than it used to be. And with some items, they'll have more colors and such online than in stores--so I'll try things on in the store and then order specific colors etc. at home.
